luddemann
Hello. So I want to start making custom armor like hothtrooper, omegared and omesean etc. However, I cant import the nif files to blender even though I have the plugins. I understand that I need to set up these files in a particular way in order to do so. Can anyone please explain how I do this? Maybe with some pictures. Or through shared screen on skype could also work. Please I really need help. Got my head full of armorideas that I really need to get out ;)

bisquits
Here you go.I have been away from modding for a time. I have finally begun to seriously play Skyrim and the install I have of blender that I use for Oblivion gives me an error everytime I try to import a .nif file. The error is: ValueError: string too long <0x00010000 at 0x0000003A> I am running the following: Blender-2.49bPYFFI-2.1.5Python-2.6.6Blender_Nif_scripts-2.5.5.90Nifscope-1.1.3.36 Everything seems to be running fine for Oblivion .nif's I just can't seem to load a Skyrim .nif. Thanks in advance for any help.
MadNuttah
Hi, open your nif file in nifskope and change the file header information to User Version "11" and User Version 2 "34". You can show the header by pressing the "Reset Block Details" button. There are many nodes which blender can't read. If you get an error, remove uneeded nodes like the BSLightingShaderProperty and try again after each removed node. Hope this helps.
