Do Old Olney next ! :D

 

Its my faviourate stomping ground, plenty of nice big buildings inside, but all of them boarded up !

 

It would be neat to explore that area, at the moment i just use it as one giant dungeon crawl.

 

Seriously though, olney is where its at.

 

If you dont want olney, minefield has a bunch of boarded up houses too.

Great sounding project! Definetly tagging this one.

 

While most players probably won't actively notice this mod while playing it, it will add a massive level of new immersion to the game.

Seeing an unblocked door will no longer mean a dungeon.

 

 

 

Question: Do you plan on doing apartments? Some large scale buildings with multiple floors (that don't require entering a new level) would be pretty nifty.

Im going to be honest, i didnt read everything as ive been all over these forums tonight. but i tried to catch the important stuff.

 

 

i like your mod idea. i vvas vvorking on one i vvas gonna call Fallout Overhaul. except my idea vvas to make nevv buildings and such and maybe even add to some old. vvith quests and stuff that can be added to th egame so that not only is there more to see but also more to do more of everything really, more buildings more people more guns

 

so anyvvay the main focus of my idea vvas to add my vvork and if anyone else vvas doing somtthing similar, get prmission to use it and throvv it al into one large mod pile for the happy vvastelanders.

 

i dont plan on making this overhaul mod a main focus, vvhat im doing is adding stuff to fallout 3 a little at a time and then vvorking on other mods to see vvhat comes up then later on doing some more again until the future vvhere vve have more than enough to put the vvorks together and finally present a all nevv and improved vvasteland vvith so much more to give!

 

i only have one small dislike to your mod idea. vvhich is i think you mentioned you vvanted to make it so you coudl go inside EVERY building that you normally cant. i like some buildings and such being inaccessable as it makes it more real, i mean some doors in the vvasteland are blocked by debree and such and shouldnt be opened. other than that your mod idea sounds great

So what's happening? Are you still working on this mod?

 

I don't have any modding skills, only some photoshop :P, but I am willing to help you out with anything if you like..

 

I could find you some more houses and making up names and such.. gimme a PM!

i can help to if you need me (i am a fairly good moder, at making interiors atleast).

 

looking forward to this mod being done.

 

Also removing rubble that blocks od interiors is unnessesary (yes it is spelled wrong, but it is late and i am tired) since it in my opinion would be weird if not a single hosue was blocked of by random events in 200 years.

Your mod idea is cool. I remember wishing that I could get into more buildings especially in downtown. One potential problem that I would forsee is that any quest mods that get put in place using these structures will undoubtedly make for some nasty conflicts. My quest mod "The Refuge" uses a bank in the Mason District and A Cuppa Joe and an empty building in Canterbury Commons, for example. I certainly don't want to disuade you from your work cause its a great project. I guess my thought would be that it might be time better spent if you made quests or miniquests associated with tthe structures you are populating. Fairfax, for example, is ripe for a quest series related to the raiders that occupy it. There could be a tougher variant of raiders that occupy the interiors and are using to coordinate some kind of wasteland-threatening master plan. Players can always just make a choice about whether they want non-specific enterable buildings or quest-oriented ones. It would be cool if all of our hard work was compatible and could eventually be put together to make the game more uber. Just a thought.

Seems so and it seems that I'm unable to find the mod anywhere (or didn't you upload it yet- unfished?)

Anyways, like the idea a lot and would want to help but currently I would just form a pain in the ass (due to still being in the learning progress of using the geck and due to the fact that Geck doesn't let me learn to use him because it's an emo female dog who crashes constantly -.-)

Just let me know if this is still alive and I'll try to offer some support after I know how to fiddle with the Geck :P

Already know a couple of things that could be usefull like creating interiors (wich isn't hard at all ofcourse :P but sometimes time consuming) and exteriors beginning to work a little bit so that could maybe offer some usefull attribute to your work? (tho i'm unable to create decent NPCs/dialogues/navmesh(a pain in the ass)/AI/edit already excisting buildins,eg player's house in megaton wich i'm trying to make dynamic => no more loading screens but just a door wich opens and closes due to geck crashing while trying to do this)

So the decission is up to you, would like to see some work of yours or an update on how it's going tho

For now i shall quit rambling on and resume my Geck fiddling :P
