narphous Posted January 7, 2013 Share Posted January 7, 2013 I modified housecarlriften (Iona), but when speaking, I rarely get sound. I get her subtitles, so she is talking and I'll get an occasional line of audible dialog from her. I've got several modified followers in this one esp, but only Iona seems to be affected. Even the NPCs I've added all work correctly. I've already tried checking for errors with tes5edit and it comes up clean, so I'm not sure where to go from here. A couple other notes: I found various threads talking about all NPCs not making sound. This is not what's happening, and my skyrim.ini already includes the voices*.bsa files. In this case, only this one NPC seems to be affected by this. Others using this voice still seem to work. I've tried different voices for this NPC, including known working voices, but the NPC refuses to do anything other than occasionally utter a phrase or two, and then silence. I also tried extracting the voice files, but this didn't make any difference either. I do have fuz ro doh installed, but this problem started well after installing that. Another thing to note is that it does act like the game is not finding the voice files, because I get the random lip movement that fuz ro doh displays when there's no voice file for an NPCs line. If I rename the fuz ro doh dll, the game doesn't display any lip movement for the NPC, again indicating that the game is not finding the voice files for some reason. As a final note, I can't be sure that this NPC has ever worked on this play through. I didn't become thane of riften until later in the game, and it seems the problem was occurring as soon as I acquired this housecarl. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Would have sworn I used female sultry for a housecarl before, but maybe not. Game really needs more than 3 options (female eventoned, commander, and young eager in case any one is wondering) for female housecarls.
