monarchco
No, not a CTD, a full freeze for which ive not seen before. Whenever in combat, and randomly into combat, the game crashes. I find it tends to help if Im looking away from the fighting(no difference if combat is guns or melee based)Game will freeze with current screen, background noises will continue, all character, and weapon audio is cut off, and than game will hang, req ctrl-alt-del > task mgr > end process to close. Probably not a problem with my system, but ive heard of issues with AMD cards before. Razer Game Booster does have recorder(hooking) active, but I have not tried to record yet. I use archive invalidated and 3GB enabler. I am on win7 - 64x bit. Game still running full 60fps on Vsync, as it was when most settings AA, and AF were maxed out. prensa
monarchco - Hello! Sounds like the Fallout 3 multi core bug. "FALLOUT.ini is default aside from ugridload brought down from 5 > 3" So you don't have the multi core fix applied? Fallout 3 has trouble with multi core computers, mainly with ones that have more than two cores & use hyperthreading. You've got an i5 & that's either 2 or 4 cores so your Fallout could be affected by it. There is a fix, you need to edit your Fallout 3 .ini file. The one you want to change is: Documents\My Games\Fallout3 The file you want will be called: FALLOUT.ini Open the .ini with Notepad & change this line: bUseThreadedAI=0 to: bUseThreadedAI=1 & insert this line under it: iNumHWThreads=2 Save & close your ini. That fixes the multi core bug completely. Hope this helps! Prensa
monarchco
*sigh* thank you much for your help. I just picked up modding FO3 again recently, and I do remember making considerable changes to the configuration files back 2 years ago.... however I neglected to remember multithreading issue -.- Again, tyvm.
