I've been looking into why my character has a glowing white outline around their body, regardless of what clothing they are wearing as it also appears on the nude body. All of my AA settings are set to off in both Nvidia settings and the skyrim launcher. If i start a new character there is no white outline on that one and when loading the save when this character was first created the outline isn't there either. So i'm wondering why it's just on this one character in all my recent saves. The active effects present on the character are from a professions mod, a blessing from a chapel and things from realistic needs but these things have never produced an outline like this before. I also tried putting on FXAA instead of AA to see if that did anything but it didn't. I turned shadow blur to 0 also...

Edit: I attached a picture showing the outline on the back of the character and of the face to show the line on the eyelids and jawbones just for reference purposes :)

Ok i have removed all magic effects by using the resurrect command and also the dispelallspells command on my character but i still have the white outlines. I used the showracemenu and when i go into it the effect is removed, but once i return in-game it comes back again. I tried adding some other fx effects shown in that thread and then removing them but it again faded to normal, then the lines came back again instantly.

Try deleting (back them up first) all loose "*_sk.dds" files from your texture folders. It looks like this problem is due to some body mods that change the vanilla skin subsurface maps and produce this unwanted glossy skin effect.

Guh. Alright, i tried that, i deleted those files from textures but they were for female bodies anyway, and it didn't remove the white lines. I went into showracemenu and backed out again, the white line was gone for about 5 minutes then was back again. Thanks for persistently trying to help though.

Ok, i've narrowed it down somewhat. After using the resurrect command on myself it goes back to normal and i can run around in third person without the lines appearing, as far as i can tell, however after switching to first person view and then back out into third person the lines reappear straight away. So something in first person is doing is.

I have the exact same problem, although in my case I not only have a white glow/outline but my character also has a weird white "fire" trail behind him (that isn't really fire). I've tried every spellID I could think of to no avail. Definitely goes away in 3rd person when I race or sex change, but it comes back when you shift to 1st person. Really annoying. A fix would be great if you found one.

I'm sorry to necro a thread but...

I've been searching for hours on this issue.
No other result had pictures like yours, the same white stuff I was seeing.

I tried everything the other searches listed, and everything in this thread.

as a last resort I started turning off my mods one by one and discovered that Wet and Cold was causing it.
I'm not sure how or why but disabling it fixed the issue permanently.

I don't know if you solved your issue for good, or if this is even relevant, but maybe it'll help someone else who is searching

Edit: I've had the Wet and Cold mod for a while now, and it only just started doing this on my one character

Hi, yeah the issue seemed to be related to the character permenantly stuck with some kind of 'wetness' that could have been from frostfall or wet and cold, I had both. The problem went away by itself but I'm unsure if that was due to reinstalling the mods or the mods being heavily updated since the time of this problem but, if anybody else comes across this problem like you say, this may help them.

Oh right that's caused by Frostfall when you are wet, and it gets worse when soaked the effect is intentional....IDK I just was wondering myself I feel this confirms it though and having my character standing at a fire resolved the shader.
