Waterloo9
So i played skyrim when it came out and i loved it. I seen a article that came out awhile ago about good skyrim mods and one of them was hunting in skyrim and survival and needs stuff. I thought it sounded pretty cool so i started to play skyrim again and looked for these mods, found this website and i was hooked. I downloaded probably like 300 mods lol. So at first i had a crash as soon as i loaded, accidently deleted all of them and had to start over. I decided to go slower and work my way up, didn't work. I ended up downloading almost every mod i did the first time but this time without the texture stuff because i thought that was the problem. So now i got all my mods installed it says 190 of the mods i have put into a folder that i know are installed, and these are mostly without textures and no houses. Unless they were in a mod like hunting in skyrim. So, i have a few questions with all these mods, honestly i don't even remember some of them they just sounded cool so how important is load order? I know it can cause crashes if out of order but some just not work if i have them in the wrong order? reason im asking is because i have so many there might be some i forgot about that i really wanted that aren't even actually working. Also, the kinds of mods i like are ones that make the game more realistic, like footprints, or the rain one where my eye blinks if i get hit with a drop, little things like that. I went through and watched every mod sanctuary and got the ones i think were cool but i honestly still want more if there is some lol. I want mods like i said that add realism or add to hunting that is what my guy is for now a hunter. If you have any great graphic improvements, if its texture packs or anything please let me know them as well. Thanks for you time sorry i type a lot and ask a lot of questions. Edit: I also want a house or two that are for a hunter as well. I like the one by riverwood a lot and i have tried a few others, but because i have so many mods, my skyrim stopped loading mods so for now i am taking out all the houses i added and will try them at a later time but i want a good one to keep for now. ZeroSaber39
Well as to the subject of load order, Gopher does a great job explaining it:
Waterloo9
Probably should have added, i use BOSS, and Wrye Bash and i have no errors, i fixed all of that but i am saying if i have some out of order will it make some not work? I am still watching video just wondering though.
jack013
if two mods change the same record.
Waterloo9
Any way to check this without check each mod? and usually if they do the same thing they are named the same thing correct and i would have to replace it right? i install everything manually. Edit: ok so after watching gophers video i noticed that boss tells you stuff the conflicts with eachother, but that isn't everything right? I had stuff before that popped up errors and things these were just warnings or notes that i fixed now. AlberichMX
Other tip (at least what I do): Add few mods at a time and see how they work for a time (30 mins is a good time to test) right now I have 65+ some textures, replacers and animations with no problems and 60 fps =), every time I add some mods (I add 3 or 4 mods at a time) I do the same and it works fine. Yea, i do now after i spent basically a whole day going through mods then a lot of hours installing the next for it to not work lol but that was before i knew about boss or wrye bash. But what i do now, is i install about 3-5 mods usually and wait and see if they work if my game works if it does i put it in a folder. My question tho is more about being in the wrong load order, like lets say i installed these 190 mods i have, and like 10 of them aren't even working because they are in the wrong load order i just don't know it. Is that possible? Wrye Bash says everything is working im just making sure that if that says it and boss saids don't use these 2 together i am ok right? Shunsei
The mod that is higher up in the load order will be the one overwritten by the mods under it, if I had a mod that renames item such as better sorting and a mod that alters a silver ring from the vanilla game then if better sorting was to load last it would overwrite the effect of that other mod that alters the ring and the ring will be named Ring:Silver as better sorting is overwriting the effect of the other mod. You should install them all slowly rather than all of them at a time but if all else fails just get the mods you can't live without and besides the problem is not always the load order.
