How to be a Good modder.

Good tips but I think that the most important thing is that you spent you're time on making something you like yourself.

Taking breaks is aslo a good tip, I should take breaks more often.

Also, dont spend more than 20 minutes on one point if you're not making progress. Example:

I spent over 3 hours on making custom windows that change according to the daycycle of the outside world. Didn't make any progress in the 2 hours, just fiddled with them. Then I gave up, hit the shower, watched some TV and BANG! I just realized what I were doing wrong for the past 2 hours, went to the computer and fixed it with the first try;) So taking distance to your mod can sometimes actually work better on it than you playing around it and getting frustrated. Anyone else have similar experiences?

All the time Veliv. Actually in my just released mod Alternate Start - Roleplayers I couldn't figure out how to get the Histories working. I spent a good hour on them (I was using the Message boxes originally, they were shown when the Terminal was activated) I go grab some food, have a smoke and it hits me... use the terminal instead of the message boxes. Sure enough, worked flawlessly. Happened a couple times in my Oblivion Mod Evanore Island with various parts of my scripts and the like.

Sadly, aside from what's already been said there really aren't many other tips that I can think of aside from:

Don't be afraid to reverse engineer scripts If your working on a script and can't figure out how to get it working, but you KNOW it's been used in a script before don't be afraid to open up the script and copy/paste it into your own. This is actually how I learned scripting myself when I first started making mods. I just copy/pasted scripts and changed a few lines here and there to work with what I needed, but I also spent the time to READ them too, so the next time I used a similar script I wouldn't need to copy/paste.
