SiniVII
Oblivion keeps crashing sometimes whenever I use a spell. I wonder if it has something to do with overheating, since in the morning when I turn my computer on and play, it works fine. Then as the day passes, it crashes from time to time more frequently than before as the day progresses. I can play Oblivion for three hours at max without crashing, or thats the most ive experienced since I got the game. After restarting the game again, I can use spells again for another maybe half an hour. Strange thing is, when I spam spells to train them, nothing happens. But then after changing to another type of spell, it freezes. And then over the evening, it crashes all the time when I use a spell if I have played for a long time or the comp has been on (which it usually is, havent really tried having it off at mid-day). What happens is that the screen freezes, but the music and sounds all play like they are supposed to. I can exit to the desktop without problems and shut oblivion down from there, then I can restart the game again anytime. Here is my system: Vista Home Premium 6.0MSI: MS-7250 MotherboardAMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+ (2CPU's) ~2,4GHz.5GB's Memory (RAM)DirectX 10GeForce 7900 GSResolution used: 1680x1050 (32-bit and 60Hz) Hope someone can help me with this... dezdimona
sounds like overheating.open it up and clean it out very carefully.Dust, dirt, lint and other things can hamper cooling of the power suppy and other items that need to remain cool
