Rapier_21
Hey. I figured out, finally, how to get the sniper rifle's scope to zoom in decently. Now, I'm just having problems understanding how the range function works. For some reason it seems like, even with small guns 100%, the sniper rounds go maybe a third as far as any other bullets do. How do I fix this?
perpl3x3d
There are two values you have to set, one for the weapons range, and one for the projectiles range. Also, to a point, depending on how many exterior cells you have set to load in your FALLOUT.INI file, the bullet will only travel as far as the amount of cells loaded around you. You can change that value in odd intervals, by default it is 5 I think. So increase your weapons range and your projectiles range, you are then limited by the amount of cells loaded. If you wish to shoot farther, extend the amount of cells loaded interior/exterior wise if necessary. Hope this helps, I'm still learning too. Rapier_21
So, is the, say, 512/2000 (those are the hunting rifle values). The 512 is the weapon range and the 2000 is the projectile range? It's listed as MIN/MAX in the GECK. Not very helpful, is it? >.<
perpl3x3d
The projectiles range is located in a different editing window, sorry I didn't mention that earlier. It's under Special Effects ---> Projectiles. Double click on the appropriate ammuntion file (.308 i think?), and there should be a range modification in there. Again, most of the ranges are set to the default loading exterior cells range, so you have to increase the amount of exterior cells also. Another thing to keep in mind, is spread. If you plan on shooting farther, you need the spread to be next to 0 or 0 itself, otherwise at long distances the spread will become a huge factor.
