USSEP NOT WORKING SUDDENLY

On June 12, 2020 I had been finishing 3 days of manually loading mods, checking requirements, opening folders, extracting, and all the other hard work that goes into getting a good load order game up and running. So what happens? Siuddenly USSEP is broken, "Missing Masters." Is this the result of Bethesda doing something with the Creation Club?

I panicked, imagining the worse. Then I discovered that Blacksmith Trough Water Fix - USSEP was dirty, in a way that broke USSEP. I don't know how that works, but all this bug-hunting is keeping me from going totally senile at my age of 66.

Might try using a mod manager.

There are many things which can go wrong installing mods manually unless you are experienced in using mods.

Mod managers like Vortex, MO2, and NMM might take some work to use but will save you a world of trouble in the long run.

I am 74 and would not think of installing my mods manually, and I have been using mods for six or seven years now. The truth is that learning to use a mod manager is less work in the long run than trying to install your mods manually.

Although I fail to see what age has to do with it.

During my rebuild of the game following an unexpected "auto" update by steam (long story), I had to shut down around half of my mods just to get things stable enough to start rebuilding. I've run into missing masters issues over and over. Fortunately, Vortex has reported them faithfully each time they're encountered and identified the missing mods, which made fixing those errors relatively painless (aside from the slow crawl of deploying) ... and I'd bet MO2 offers a similar dependency check/reporter during its deployment phase too.

Now if only there was an SKSE64 dependency checker, it'd be even easier to handle these periodic catastrophes when BethesdaSteam issues a new "update" and we have to go through the SKSE64 dance again. (yes, before someone says it., I know that some mods authors are making theirs skse64 ver independents (hats off to those of you doing so)

Props for building your house with a stone chisel though. I like my power saws and electric drills
