Random CTDs

Skytest

Skyrim Monster Mod

 

Just do a quick test by just disabling the esps in your mod manager of choice. No need to uninstall them yet. Just try it and let us know.

 

Thanks, I actually only disabled SkyTest, as the other two are sort of a "if I cant have this, I dont wanna play anymore" mod. Skytest was just for the added fun of seeing animals act like animals. I got rid of it, and I didnt crash there (where it turns out a sabercat spawns, and im assuming skytest was like HAVE A MILLION SABERCATS - crash).

 

The coc trick was a pain to set up and find the console commands to level me to 81 XD I ran around riverwood a bit, went up to bleak falls, ran back down to riverwood, teabagged Alvor a few times. Never crashed. Then I loaded my save, ran passed the bridge....crash. But as I said, SkyTest seems to have been it.....sad day.

 

I'll report back if it happens again, and where.

 

I also switched back from RCRN to CoT / Project ENB, I didnt like the tint RCRN put over the screen instead of actually making things darker.

WELP crashed outside whiterun, heres the entire papyrus log.

 

What does it mean? D:

 

So I took off ASIS, hopefully thats all there is to it, unchecking it. There are no instructions on their page, nor does the mod author seem to update or even visit the thread anymore. God I hope this is it, as much as I HATE giving up asis, I just went back with all the skyre modules.

 

Took out high level enemies too.

 

Im pretty much back to my old mod list from months ago.

 

I swapped to This for spawns

 

More Spawns

 

new mod order with asis and high level gone. as well as skytest realistic animals (but not harder enemies)

Do you keep CTDing outside of Whiterun or is it just a 'fluke'? Are you CTDing a lot or 'maybe once every 2 hours' sort of thing? If it's the latter in both cases it's probably as good as can be expected given this mod list (just save often, purge cell buffer once in a while). If you remove all the mods that add spawn points in the worldspace (SkyMo) or more spawns, or have continually updating scripts, you'd probably have an even more stable game but it's probably not going to be as fun :) Edited by ripple

yea, I cant play without increased spawns and difficulty, its a different game. Vanilla is too easy.

 

I like to roll with 2 companions, my zombie, and my 5 skeletons from skyre :P

 

as for crashes? completely freaking random, thats whats annoying. sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes 3 hours. Area doesnt matter.

 

I crash outside whiterun, in riften, in the bee an barb, near falkreath, just ....anywhere

Hmm....if you are CTDing in the worldspace and interior cells, then it's not the spawn mods anymore (so you don't have to remove any more of those for now :) ). Any patterns at all to the CTD's? Only in combat or just walking around as well? What are your followers doing when you CTD? Etc. Edited by ripple

no rhyme or reason to the CTDs whatsoever, followers are usually just ....following me about. No pattern at all. The riverwood thing was as close as it got. I am currently on ANOTHER new save so I'll test that location when I am done with bleak falls and embershard.

 

However after removing ASIS everything seems to be performing much better, and by that I mean SkyRe is back to what I remember it being XD A challening HOLY s*** place. I think ASIS was doing the OPPOSITE of what it said >.>

edit * another thing I noticed without ASIS, mobs are not in RIDICULOUS armor. Before bandits outside bleakfalls were in mercenary armor (elven equivelent), steel, and around 10 in ORCISH XD

 

now they're back in fur!

 

edit* Okay ....just CTD randomly while using the forge at whiterun. And it wasnt instant or anything, had been browsing the menus then bam.

I have a question, I was looking aat the papyrus log and 1 phrase caught my eye

"[01/14/2013 - 07:31:37AM] Error: File "Dragonborn.esm" does not exist or is not currently loaded."

There are actually many references like this in the log, as if it's trying to find mods that are no longer there or something similar, not sure if that is at all related though. Anyway, my question, Dragonborn isn't out yet, right? So why is it in your log?... Related to CTD's maybe?

That's harmless. It from 'Frostfall.' Chesko has stated that it's part of the 'prepping' of his mod for the new DLC when it's released for PC.
