UDK450
+Originally posted in Mod Talk, but re-posted here as I believe it is more appropriate.+ Hello everyone! Recently I have been getting together a list of 30 mods or so together. So far, everything is working quite swell with few problems and zero conflicts. However, two of the mods I wish to install I feel may be incompatible. SkyRe and A Race Overhaul both modify some similar parts. One of these being the Race Module of SkyRe, and A Race Overhaul in its whole. If I were to disable this Race module, install a mod that changes the heights of the various races, and continue to use A Race Overhaul mod, would everything work appropriately? Or are there other parts of SkyRe that would conflict with A Race Overhaul?
MShoap13
Only way to know for sure would be to test it out and see. I doubt that you'll be able to get a height altering mod to work with either of those plugins. Either you load the height altering plugin last and it works but the other plugin doesn't, or you load the race altering plugin last and the height altering plugin doesn't. You could merge in the height changes to the other plugin in TES5Edit and it would probably be pretty simple. You'd need permissions to distribute this new derivative plugin though. UDK450
A question. Why would the height mod screw a plugin such as A Race Overhaul up? A Race Overhaul adds in new abilities and spell, along with different bonuses, but does not alter the physique of either race, as far as I am aware. MShoap13
They both have to alter the same record. With conflicting records only the last one loaded takes precedent. You can view plugin conflicts in TES5Edit. Load the plugins you want to compare, then right click in the left pane and choose "Apply filter for cleaning". All conflicting records between currently loaded plugins will be highlighted in red. This page has a download for a more in-depth guide to viewing conflicts in TES5Edit with details about what all of the different highlighting and text colors mean.
