Vidat
I've done some looking around via google and on the forums on how to fix my CTD problems I have been plagued with. So far I have seen to double check to see if there are two instances of Skyrim running in my load order (Which there is not), I have seen to upload the 4G skyrim patch (Which some people either have said to load or not to load, or also that it isn't needed due to the more recent patch) and lastly which I believe might be my problem is the load order of my mods and potential conflicts. After reading Link I think that my load order may need to be tweaked a little. So I come to the forums asking for some guidance in fixing my load order or improving upon it after I have ran BOSS. Some of the more serious crashes I have found are around the Ritual Stone area, really that entire valley area. I have seen some other crashes when fast traveling to areas in that location along with spots. This is my current load order. If you have any tips or suggestions (For better mods or upgrades) please let me know. The CTD's have nearly ruined the game for me.
ripple
1) I forget which official patch version enabled 4GB for Skyrim, but yeah, you don't need the 4GB patch if your Skyrim is up to date. 2) That's a modest load order, not like the giant load order I typically see when people request assistance regarding CTDs and such. (In theory) It should provide a rather stable game.....hm.....where exactly are you experiencing CTDs? Outdoors? Indoors? Which locations? Fast travel always or only some of the time? How often? Vidat
I'm getting it almost every time I near the Ritual Stone area. Trying to finish the quest to kill the bandits in Valthime Tower that think they have a toll road going. Primarily outdoors is when I get hit with one. I have tried to go towards that area from the west and also the east. I hit the crash just after Mixwater mill. I'm not far into this game on my computer since I recently got interested in skyrim pluggins and changed from my 360, so I'm not too sure where else I will hit these problems. I have hit a CTD also when fast traveling around to the west of Whiterun. Had a friend come and help that's experienced in modding and he had to leave for a smoke when I kept hitting random CTD's. The only thing I see in that load order which might cause consistent CTD outdoors is 'Birds of Skyrim' and 'Skyrim Flora Overhaul.' I read reports of users experiencing issues with Flora Overhaul after a recent update, and SFO has been updated a couple of times since as the author attempts to address the reported issue. Are you using BOSS to sort your load order? Not that it matters much for this mod list, but BOSS would tell you to clean the 'Better Dynamic Snow' plugin using TES5Edit. Vidat
I have the most recent of all the updates. I will look further into SFO and I do run BOSS to sort my order I just haven't ever ran TES5Edit so I will have to try to learn/use that. In the post I linked above they say to sort them by like types. Have you heard or tried this yourself or know if it would help any?
ripple
In the post I linked above they say to sort them by like types. Have you heard or tried this yourself or know if it would help any? Categorizing mods by renaming them (via adding a prefix, for instance) is probably something that a lot of users do (I do it only for the mod archives. I use the Mod Organizer which allows you to categorize installed mods through tags so I don't need to manually do it). It's just a way to keep your mods and mod archives organized and easier to find. However, it's not relevant to load order of esp's, and you should still use BOSS to set your load order. You should also read each BOSS log that appears after it sorts your load order, as it sometimes have important information about the mods you are using (like needing to use TES5Edit to 'clean' certain mods). Vidat
I use BOSS for proper ordering and I still get the crash. I went and used TES5Edit to clean the mods that needed or it recommended and still hitting the crash in the same place. Could it be that the crashes are because of Bigger Trees? Possibly a shading issue or that it's using too much memory or taxing too much to deal with all that tree?

At this point, if you can reproduce the CTD, try disabling mods in groups then one by one to determine which mod is causing it. Gorgoth117
Just like to point out That I have a lot of the same mods installed and just started again yesterday and still get crashes. I haven't been to mixwater mill yet I think So i can't confirm it crashes there but it sounds as if we may have the same problem. Not much help but nice to know It could be a common issue. Vidat
Sounds like a sound plan to me. I'm actually saved right outside a crash point/area.
