killercroc72
Alright, so I've had my laptop for almost a year now, and the main problem with it is that it has to play games on the lowest graphics possible, because the dedicated memory on the video card is about 10x less than what is generally required. As I cannot get a new video card, I will need a new/different laptop if I wish to upgrade. But, it would be easier just to sell my current laptop, and buy a new desktop instead. Can anyone help me choose the right components with a price range of $900?
Vecna6667
The following link has a $1200 pc for you to go by. Just take the SSD, get a lesser capacity HDD, get Windows 8 over Windows 7 (though why would anyone want to :P), and maybe a lower CPU. You should have a computer that can handle most games(Far Cry 3, and Crysis 3 later on may be the exceptions.) http://www.maximumpc.com/article/features/build_pc_blueprints_november_2012 The Baseline category is where you should look at. Get the name of the parts listed and then go to newegg or any other computer parts store and compare the prices of the parts and make a decision on what parts you'll actually get. kalikka
(good) 550W PSU is more than enough for any new rigs. If you arent going to OC, take H77 mobo with i5 or i3 CPU (3xxx model).Or Intel Xeon E3-1230V2, which is basically i7-3770 without iGPU. Cant really help much as we dont know where you live. Europe and US have very different availability on PC-parts.Also, does the 900$ contain the OS? Are you going to OC? killercroc72
I suck at PC specifications. Period. I live in the US, and I believe it is OS, assuming it means Operating System.
