Failed to get owner quest for unowned condition

Recommended Posts

Could you be more detailed ? i can't make sense of what you are saying.

Oh sorry, I mean in magic effects and in the top right it will say target conditions. Anytime I enter a condition and hit enter the error message will appear saying Failed to get owner quest for unowned condition. I really don't know if its a usless message or not but I did a step which was mentioned on a forum to install the Script zip in the skyrim files and extract it to data which I did but still gives me an error message. This happens to modded magic effects and vanilla magic effects. Also on unrelated note is it possible to detect if a mod will cause save corruptions or make the game corrupted? I am working on a mod while using assets from another mod which I have permission but problem is some of the stuff in it causes CTDs and save corruptions which is caused by summons that came from the mod. I am only using spells from the mod and not the summons to prevent this corruption but I want to see is there a way to find out what assets are causing the corruption to happen.

This sounds like you are trying to put a condition to an actor that does not exists, or a quest that doesn't have its pex. But on the other side i have never encountered or heard about this warning.

The 'Top Right' box does not use the scripts from the "Script zip", those condition are from the game engine.

The "Script zip" contains the papyrus vanilla default scripts.

The biggest percentage of "save corruptions" are caused by scripts, mainly when uninstalling a mod since the save file stores 'All' executed scripts and if you don't at least clean your save those function will remain in the save file, for example "All Register Functions" if the unistall was done before those 'Register Functions' had ended (in game).

You can detect all possible CTD or corruption culprit assets, but this needs an "experienced modder" status in all the aspects of modding.

If you are really interested in this, then you will have to start doing some extensive research since this subject does not have just 1 answer, but it's a whole field by itself.

Ah alright, I have been researching before I made this forum but kept hitting to many dead ends.

If you do some research here on Nexus you will find a conversation that took place about a year ago (more or less), where a lot of experienced modders contributed on explaining the causes of "Save Corruption".

In that conversation, the most important and frequent culprits were covered and explained.

* I will search in my bookmarks to see if i have it and send you the link, but i don't promise anything...
