What am I doing wrong?

I recently started playing Skyrim and while searching the web for assistance on how to beat a particular quest I stumbled across the DemonHunterV2armor.esp. I liked the way it looked and decided I would try to add this mod to my Skyrim game. I have read through the site and first downloaded the NMM(0.34.0) downloader then Downloaded the armor using the Download with Manager link. This is the 1 and only mod I have tried to install. So my list of mods in the Plugins tab is Skyrim.esm, DemonHunterV2armor.esp, and DemonHunter_Scarf.esp. After it downloaded I clicked the puzzle piece in the mods tab to activate the mod.

I did all that last night and when I was done the armor was available to craft, but I did not have the materials to craft it. I shut down the game and went to bed. Today I load up the game and the armor selection is not there. completely gone. I shut down the game, loaded the NMM and NMM says that the mod is installed and active. So I restarted the game again, no armor. I shut down the game, de-activated the mod, uninstalled it, ran the game and as expected no armor. I then closed the game again, re-downloaded the armor again from nexus using NMM and reinstalled the mod. NMM shows active, game shows nothing. I tried a couple other mods, easy to find homes, skins, rocks, but none of them seem to have an effect in my game. So I uninstalled EVERYTHING except my saved game files. As of now I have a fresh copy of Skyrim, a fresh copy of NMM, and the armor re-downloaded. My character meets the requirements to make the armor, but even though NMM says its installed, no armor. I can only assume I am missing something.

Any Ideas?

Plugins tab, as I am typing this just shows the Skyrim.esm and the 2 different Demonhunter.esp. My mods tab just shows Demonhunter.

Please be kind, I am new to this. I generally do not like to add mods to my games because I tend to break the games or ruin my saves or both. But I like the way a lot of the mods on this site look and I really like this particular set of armor.

Are they checked off i the plugins tab of NMM? If you run the game with them checked (with NMM closed) and then reopen NMM do they uncheck themselves?

Make sure you have the following line under the [Launcher] section of your SkyrimPrefs.ini (located at \My Documets\My Games\Skyrim\):

bEnableFileSelection=1

Also make sure you're running NMM as Administrator if you have Windows UAC on (and maybe even if you don't have UAC on).

Here is a link to my troubleshooting blog.

This is updated from time to time so come back later for more.

If you use any of this and have some success - or even if nothing works - please post back here what you did that worked or didn't work. That kind of information can be invaluable to other members having the same or similar problems - And to me in fixing any problems in the blog.

1 - Yes to every part of that.

2 - yeah uuummmm... sooooo... this worked for me... :teehee: I did not even think to look here as the game originally showed the armor set the first time I installed it. But this was my problem. That line was no where in my ini file. Added it under [Launcher] and it works fine now.

3 I have to run it in administrator mode or it will not even start.

Thank you. I really appreciate the assist.
