melee weapons do no damage on horseback

Seems theres a lack of threads about this problem on google and could find no fix on nexus. When I'm on horse back my 1h weapon does no damage it just throws enemies, only time I do damage is when they are directly in front of my horse. Archery works fine its just melee, I've tried diabling all my animation altering mods and convenient horses but still broke. Also downloaded all the unofficial patches off of nexus but still broke. Any suggestions or tips would be nice.
