Prinny1God
Would it be possible to place them into Fallout 3 with the help of the geck?
thesofafox
Its possible, but only if you do it for yourself and own legal copies of both games. Releasing it to the public is a big no no.
Meh2100
Or if you made your own models
Moraelin
Hmm, speaking of custom models, I wonder if anyone can convince Ren to port his Morrowind Moogles :P
VictorZio
Would it be possible to place them into Fallout 3 with the help of the geck? Sure. I'm considering importing every model and object from Oblivion to use in FO3. I'll upload it when its available, but it will take a while. I have to manually sort through the models and find out which ones simply wont function. Imagine! Fallout 3 with coins! XD

XD I was thinking about that too! I used that mod in oblivion to finish it the first time, along with Shivering isles.

XD Errr... porting vanilla Oblivion models, or part of them, to work ingame in Fallout 3 and sharing them with the public is illegal as per copyright laws and intellectual property laws, so unless you make the items from scratch on your own it'd be illegal and you as well as any sites hosting the mods could face receiving potential "Cease and desist" letters or threats of lawsuits from the copyright holders. Not trying to rain on your parade dude, just potentially saving you a lot of trouble in case you do it and no-one wants to host your files. ;)
killerx243
The whole copyrighting law barrier between my two favorite games is stupid since Oblivion and Fallout 3 are from the SAME company you'd think it wouldn't bother them.

Yes, but it all boils down to whom holds the rights to copy that content and what they have stated you can do with it. I think the root of the issue lies in the relationship between the artists and the game studio - Meshes, textures etc. are for all purposes the intellectual property of the artists who made them, "sold" to Bethesda through their salary. The emplyment contract could contain a clause which states that "the work of the artist is only to be used for product X", which means Bethesda cannot give their consent and allow people to use the artwork, that Bethesda owns the rights to use for Oblivion, for Fallout 3 despite Bethesda "owning" both games. It's kinda' like... You have bought a movie on DVD in which there is a piece of music by a popular artist that you like. Buying the DVD does not mean that you can rip the music and put it into another movie because you think the music is cool. The same way with meshes, textures, sound effects and so on with games. thewaronandrew
It's too bad there isn't a way to limit what people are allowed to download on this site. If you purchased Oblivilon and registered it, you can download mods people have made using Vanilla models, for example. I wonder if anybody has even considered modding Fallout 3 into Oblivion.
