positive feedback and thanks, and some questions / suggestions

You've made an incredible piece of software, feature-rich... I even discovered by clicking in the plugins area on an ESP (I use mods with Skyrim mainly) that I could do something smart, I don't remember now, but it was something I had no idea I could do with Vortex and it was a nice surprise. So was getting more info on each item (mod/plugin) by double-clicking. Again, discovering features as I use this app, getting to know it naturally. Nice!

With Mod Manager I think I remember I would focus on getting the ESP load order mainly just right rather than by mod package, but now I've mostly worried about setting up mods in relation to one another and I think Vortex just takes care of the rest, I don't even need to check the plugin section much? I'm pretty sure it's right what I'm assuming because the messages refer to load order when I set dependencies and rules.

Well, I do remember not so long ago Vortex was still learning to walk before it could run and there were error messages without it being my fault, but it worked, and, well, now, it just flies! No errors at all and I've gotten from less than 50 mods that I had last year in my setup to 150 or more these last days. Very stable! Can't say enough good things! It just works. Mod Manager had it's upsides and downsides (more advanced / customizable, but less intuitive), but it's a hard one to live up to! Very impressive, given the host of features and the relative short development time!

I mean I could say there was one thing I did notice that I'm not sure was right, with these "fomod" installers - the "next" and "back" buttons had weird names sometimes because I think the people who made them didn't consider those strings would be displayed as buttons!

I should also congratulate you for the excellent LOOT integration. Just now I noticed when double-clicking an ESP that it's advising me to also get a Dawngward patch for it. Nice! Although maybe I shouldn't need to browse through mods randomly to find that out! Be merciful, there are too many mods and compatibility to consider. Maybe make that particular type of suggestion into a notification message, that could be toggled in settings by type?

Oh yeah, and another huge thumbs up for using symlinks! Can't commend you enough for that. I'm not entirely sure how Vortex detects conflicts between BSA and loose files though or how it forces their load order, but I assume it just doesn't do either, perhaps for performance reasons?

Even on the forums, I was surprised by the quick response from nice people willing to help.

Well! Thank you Nexus for existing, amazing publishing platform! And, of course, mainly, the mod authors, since that's where the meat is. Now I'll finally get to the game...

If you can think of any suggestions for a beginner or things I might be missing (that a beginner might not think of), I'm wondering, although I've been playing with mods for years. It's just that there are so many mods it's difficult to know where to start and what's still good and what's too old, or what's more recent and better.

On Vortex plugins-tab, click the gear-icon on the far right and enable "LOOT Messages (inlined)" and you'll see all the various LOOT messages about patches etc. on the line after the plugin.

Since you can in the Flags-column filter on "LOOT Messages" it's easy to find all plugins with such a messages.
