Frosty Mod Manager not working - "an unhandled exception has occurred"

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I just downloaded the Frosty Mod Manager and have yet to download mods for DAI. I tried following a YouTube tutorial on installing Frosty for DAI. What I did was I unzipped the rar file for Frosty, created a new folder in my Program Files (x86) folder (where my Origin/Origin Games folders are), c+p'd everything in the zip into that new folder. Then, I loaded up the application and hit the "new" button to add a game. I went to where the DAI exe is, in the Origin Games > Dragon Age Inquisition folder and tried to open it, but then an error screen comes up that says "an unhandled exception has occurred" and then Frosty just closes.

Sorry if this is overspecific, but I went into detail here because I might have done a step wrong without realizing it. Does anyone know how this can be fixed? I keep seeing stuff online about deleting and re-downloading a "bcrypt" file but I have no such file in either the Frosty or DAI folders.

You don't need the bcrypt file. That was only for older frosty versions. I don't know how to solve your problem though, sorry. :(

I also have the same problem. I don't have an Origins folder. I just right click on the DAI.exe and found its location under OS(C:) --> Games --> Dragon Age - Inquisition. Having a hard time following the YouTube video tutorial since I don't have an Origins folder to begin with.

THIS!!! Exactly the same thing for me!!! But I figured out how to fix the problem!

Right Click Frosty to run it as Administrator, then hit "New" to add Dragon Age game. It needs to be ran as Admin in order for Windows/Computer to allow it to work!

Hey, was there any update on getting over this error? I'm running as admin, tried deleting and reinstalling and still getting the unhandled exception has occurred saying the same item key has already been added. I am/have been using the daimodder for mods before this, and was going to try and use frosty with it together, though nothing I've seen so far has said that having used daimodder would be an issue.
