VulcanTourist Posted June 21, 2020 Share Posted June 21, 2020 A week ago I returned to Skyrim, this time with Special Edition, and I've been trying to reconstruct a modded game to surpass what I once had with LE. I've assembled a list of mods and tools that I think I need, but I've been having two disturbing flaws in my effort in particular: (a) spontaneous crashes to desktop and (b) black-screen lockups so severe that I can't task-switch even to Task Manager and my only recourse is to sign out of Windows or reboot. I have long since forgotten any specific knowledge and tools I had for troubleshooting LE. I can use an agonizing trial-and-error process to try to whittle down the suspects, but I'd rather have more clues to narrow the trial-and-error process before I begin. Not including follower mods, my desired plugins number 238 (104 Light, some made so by me). Is there any log file that will give me clues to finding the bad actor(s)? I've been poring over the logs of various SKSE plugins found in \My Games\, but I've seen nothing that I can identify as a smoking gun or even a suspicious wisp of smoke. In my most current iteration, I've been starting games where the game crashes to desktop in the Live Another Life prison cell just by moving toward the shrine.
