VikingII
I pretended to only save a custom face which will appears in the gene projector at the beginning of a new game or when its used the “showracemenu” command. This is not a custom race, I only pretended to pay as a normal character, but I want to use the GECK editor (richer than the gene projector), and save the face in a .esp. The method was: -In GECK I duplicated the first preset Caucasian NPC (CGPresetCaucasianF01), and I changed only its ID. -Then I edited my copy and I changed only the face shape, tone and hair. -Save the .esp and it is done. -Then, in my saved game I type showracemenu and I chose the face quickly. After this, I played a lot with my new face and hair with any problems. The problem begins when I started a fresh new game: -In the Caucasian race I chose the first face (the one that I made), and the ok button, that’s all. I can play it with my face and hair, save and exit.-But when I reload the game, the face and hair changes to the default 1st NPC of the vanilla game default. I managed to solve this by this way: When I chose my face in the gene projector, I not press the ok button. Instead I edit only one minimal attribute. Then my save game preserves the face that I've chosen (and modified) in the gene projector. Even if I uncheck my .esp the game preserves it's face (but with a vanilla hairstyle). The problem looks solve by this way... but I still uncomfortable until I solved this questions: 1) Why the problem only happens when I start a new fresh game, not when I use the console “showracemenu” to change the face in another game? 2) Is there something wrong with this method? So I ask if exists a more safe method to save a preset face. 3) I followed this tutorial to custom races, but I decided to play a simple Caucasian since I fell less conflictive with future problems in general vanilla behavior, but I ask if the custom race is a better method to save a preset face than mine, or if both are the same, or if is even more complicated?
