real carriages

A mod I would love to see and use - not being a modder - is some nice old-fashioned carriages like phaetons, charabancs etc to replace the farm-carts designated as "carriages" in this game. This has bugged me from Day one.

An ancient culture with palaces and forts like the ones in Skyrim would definitely have carriages that equal the status of the higher classes, not only the lowest possible form of transport, the same used for prisoners. "Immersion" may seem silly in a land with dragons, but this really has been a challenge for me all along.

Most of your suggestions were introduced during the 18th and 19th century so would not fit in with a medieval esque society. Carriages used by people during the medieval ages were similar to the Conestoga wagon or pageant wagon.

Actually carriages known as coaches pre-date medieval British waggons. Northern European coaches have been around since the mid-16th century. And though the two I named do indeed belong in 19th century British-speaking circles, I hardly think they'd be any less "realistic" than the farm-carts that persisted through many countries for hundreds of years for hauling goods and public transport - with FOUR to eight horses, because of the weight.

So - if we want to stay "immersive" I still say that a more elaborate coach such as those in use in China since sometime B.C., would be much more appropriate for getting to a party at the Thalmor Embassy than a prison-cart.

The bottom-line of "immersion", as I already said, is Dragons. In keeping with Dragons, coaches should not be mere carts.
