ame11iea
So I've modified a mod from another author to better suit my needs, and after gaining permission, I intend to upload it to the Steam Workshop for other people with characters similar to mine to use. I've tried practising uploading/creating archives/packing files but I just can't figure it out. Every time I try dragging all the files relating to my mod from my Data folder into the dialogue box it comes up with 'file type invalid'. All the file types that are there are .bsl, .tdt, .thd and the .esp file. None of them are accepted, and these were the files that came with the original mod download. I really need a detail description of what to do in plain English that a mod-uploading noob can understand ^_^thanks!
cordelephant
I think i see the problem. the files you associate with the mod have to not be incripted (like, for example .bsa, .bsl) it needs to be the original files (like .dds, .nif and .wav) to get to the original files, you need a program on your computer that can de-code these files and access the original textures, meshes and sounds. I use the extension to the oblivion mod manager to de-code all my .bsa files, but other programs do this as well (Fallout mod manager, ect.) here is a program that can: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/4804 hope this helped.
