totole1234 Posted January 14, 2013 Share Posted January 14, 2013 Just a quick topic for owner of new core i7 this may help you to avoid crashes because the fallout.ini tweak never worked for . it is really simple :-Start fallout 3 when you re on the main menu alt+tab so you go onto the desktop computer \-then open task manager click on the tab Process then click on show all process at the bottom left -Right click on Fallout 3 process , you ll see set Affinity and click on it -then unchecked all your 7 CPU and check only CPU 1 and 2 -quit task manager and alt tab again to go back to your game Tada ! magic , now your game shouldnt be crashes if you still crash only check one CPU I play on a macbook retina using bootcamp and this method doesnt affect perfomance i can still play with all my mod in full HD at 60 FPS exept for big epic battle with liberty prime you ll probably get 40 FPS Anyway hope this helped because i was so pissed that this game suck with mulicore machine. It is very important that you edit the correct Fallout 3 .ini file as there is one in the Data folder that's actually the default .ini & not the one in use. The one you want to change is: For XP: My Documents\My Games\Fallout3\ For Vista & Win7: Documents\My Games\Fallout3 The file you want will be called: FALLOUT.ini Open the .ini with Notepad & change this line: bUseThreadedAI=0 to: bUseThreadedAI=1 & insert this line under it: iNumHWThreads=2 Save & close your ini. Prensaalready did that but it didnt work i had some random crashes but since i did the process manipulation i experience abbslolutely no crash i tyed everuthing in the correct ini file but it just dont want to switch to 2 core so i had to make an ultimatum to my computer using task manager :D works great Edited January 14, 2013 by totole1234 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
