Novice hood is invisible and makes me bald

I made a new orc just a few hours ago and when I tried to equip the Novice Hood found in Helgen, my character turned bald instead. I used the console to get an Apprentice hood and an Adept hood, both worked just fine. I will post my load order below, though I can't think of any mods that would do this, nor have I ever had this problem before.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't plan on using mage hoods on this character, but I hate letting problems go unresolved if I can help it.

I hate to bump this, but I am now having the exact same issue - orc unable to properly equip the novice hood. Which is odd, because when I played an orc when the game first came out, I wore that hood for weeks. Is it an update issue, or a mod? I'm wondering if it's a mod as my load order is a bit similar to UrgeNexus'.

Apologies for the very non-technical reply.

 

But I encountered this today and somehow managed to fix it also.

 

What I did was re-install weapons & armor fixes remade, and its optional WAF file, and then rebuild the wrye bash patch from this video

 

When I reloaded it told me a mod that was needed to run the game was missing. But I carried on anyway and all the ppl now had full face helmets, including myself.

 

To give a very un-technical opinion, I think it had to do installing the weapons and armor mod, when I installed the WAF optional file I renamed it instead of merge.
