Kitteh
I've noticed FO3 doesn't support pixel shading on guns? Or am I doing something wrong? It's only doing vertex-based specular. Also, my big problem is that the hand position for pistols doesn't fit my gun; the way the gun is shaped, I had to rotate it 5 degrees just for the back of the hand to not clip into the back of the gun, and now the index finger is STILL too low so that it clips through the trigger guard. I could rotate it more but it'll look really ridiculous and not match up with the crosshair at all. Any way to rotate the hand position and not rotate the gun, so it's still pointing straight? I've tried all the various hand positions available in the GECK and none of them make any difference. http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/2169/fff1vt9.jpghttp://img176.imageshack.us/img176/9402/fff2bk4.jpg
Baelkin
Well... You wrote you don't want to modify the model, however I think that if you try to hold your own hand as if you gripped the gun proper, you'd find that feels difficult to hold. The trigger seems placed too high compared to how you'd actually hold a gun normally. The top of the trigger guard should be near the top of your hand with the index finger stretched, with the trigger placed accordingly. Otherwise you'll have to reach "up" with your finger to hit the trigger, a very uncomfortable way of holding anything and something that'll likely get you killed in a gun fight. At least that's my opinion.
Kitteh
This is a real gun, I'm not going to change the shape of it. It's a Webley Automatic pistol. At the moment I've reached a good compromise, it's rotated down and offset a bit, so the back has minimal clipping and the index finger is 90% in the trigger guard.
