crash on save

Hi,

My game of Fallout 3 has just started crashing to desktop whenever I save or go into a new area (I presume the autosave triggers it). I'm using Vista and have the latest patch. I have the Gloves, Welcome to the Wasteland, WWTWSkillsandGuns and ZumbsSunglasses mods and but disabling these doesn't seem to make any difference. If I reload an earlier save it'll play fine for a bit, but then starts crashing on save again after a while.

Lord, help me.

check your fallout.ini and make sure these values are correct:

bAllowScriptedAutosave=0

iSaveGameBackupCount=1

DebugSaveBuffer=0

Make sure the same values are correct in your falloutprefs.ini

if you still have problems modify your falloutprefs.ini to these values:

bSaveOnInteriorExteriorSwitch=0

bSaveOnTravel=0

bSaveOnWait=0

bSaveOnRest=0

after that go in game and test it to see if it is script related. If these changes don't fix your problem then it has been mod related, and since I don't use Gloves or Zumbssunglasses, and know the other mods don't make any false changes to corrupt your savegame it may be either the gloves or zumbsunglasses mod.

Once in game and if you don't crash after making the changes then press f5 to quick save, or whatever your quick save hotkey is. After that manually load the game from your quicksave.

Once you load the game press escape and goto option and goto (gameplay i think) to change it back to autosave for all cases.

If you continue to have problems then it means your current savegame is currupt. I don't know how to solve corrupt savegames, sorry. So if you experience further problems then you may have to make a new game.

NOTE: make sure you are using Fallout mod manager, delete your archiveinvalidation.txt if you have one in your My Documents\My Games\Fallout3

and check all the mods you are wanting to use.

Goodluck
