Flames range/retexture

I'm fairly new to Skyrim modding but having modded Fallout 3 and NV I have a decent understanding of how to make mods. After doing a little bit of tweaking on mod like Balanced Magic to make them more to my liking I decided to try making some spells with custom art. Things went well at first but I've run into a couple of problems and need some help. I ran into these problems while trying to make a custom flames spell.

 

First off I cant for the life of me figure out how to get the flames to go further out. I'd really like to extend the range the spell has.

 

My second problem has to do with retexturing the spell. I've changed all the stuff I could find in nifskope and in the editor and that seemed to work. I even edited the addonnodes for it and everything. Almost everything looks about how I want it to but there seems to still be a problem with one of the effects that spawns when the flames hit a wall or the ground. It has stayed the default orange and I can't figure out where to change it. I did some searching around which led me to an old thread and then to the Black Magic mod found here. From looking at the screenshots though it appears he has the same problem.

You can see his mods flames are green but one of the effects on the wall is still orange.

I can add screenshots of mine at a later time if needed but I have much the same issue as in the above image.

Yeah I thought of that to when I saw that mod haha. Mine looks a bit similar to his. That screenshot is from the Black Magic mod I mentioned. I used it as an example because I notice it had much the same issue. I would say its more of a retexture than a whole new spell though I am using duplicates of the flames spell files. I just didn't want all my fire having the new texture so I'm trying to edit the flames spell duplicate by itself. Other that the way it looks the only thing visually I want different from the flames spell is how far the flames reach. I'd like it to have to reach of spells like sparks or lightning bolt. I believe those are beam spells if that makes a difference. Edited by xtech102

I just want to let people know I fixed the color issue. If anyone else is having this issue try looking and the BSPSysSimpleColorModifier and the then look under colors. I had missed that on two effects and it was causing them to still look orange.

 

I have yet to figure out the range thing. I think I might not be able to do this though since it seems related to the effects animation.
