Disarray82
So, when I first got Skyrim my load times were almost nothing. Then all of the sudden my load times started taking forever. I looked everywhere online but couldn't find an answer that could fix my issue. FINALLY, by dumb luck, I figured it out!! It seems somehow my display settings were causing long load times(go figure). It seems my display settings were changed (not a shared computer) in Catalyst Control. My screen resolution was set at 1920x1080p but my REFRESH RATE was at 24hz(TV's refresh rate is 60hz). I clicked on 1920x1080p60hz, hit apply, loaded Skyrim and BINGO no more long load times. By the way, I did confirm that this was indeed the cause to my problem by setting the resolution back to 1920x1080p24hz. Long load times were back again. So if you're having long load issues, make sure you check your resolution and refresh rate is set to reflect your displays. I still can't figure out how it got changed though???? Good luck to everyone trying to fix this PITA problem. Hope this helps someone.....
gamefever
You can also make sure you don't have too many saves in the save folder. Those things get bloated you know.
