snafredson
Hello everyone!I haven't spoken a word here yet so I should perhaps introduce myself. I'm a professional musician, student of vocal pedagogy and an aspiring media composer. I would like to create a mod (that is, write the music for a mod that YOU create) that stays as close to the original score as possible (Skyrim but probably with a touch of Morrowind and Oblivion), with a similar sound that Soule has. No metal or anything, and only high quality instruments. I will probably send it to a professional mastering engineer to ensure the final product come as close as possible. The mod wont be huge but add a few tracks in the respective categories, less quantity with more quality perhaps. Exploration music and the music in the cities is what needs additions the most though. So firstly, is there any need for this? If there is, is there anyone that would want to create this mod with me? =) Here's my most recent track. It hasn't been made with the mod or Skyrim in mind, but it might give you an idea: Soundcloud Kind regards Fredrik Edited January 16, 2013 by snafredson
Krystedez
Quite interesting. What would you need help with exactly? Just creating a nmm-capable mod that changes tracks in skyrim? Or are you looking to add tracks to specific scenarios or something? I'm studying some of the interesting perks of the creation kit and just got back into Skyrim myself. I have not beaten the game because I'm so immersed in the mods and exploration of Tamriel. I think it might be easy to learn how to replace tracks if that is all you need to do. In fact you could probably do it yourself but if you're not particularly savvy then I can walk that road and let you know what I come up with. Surely there's a tutorial on adding or replacing the score. Good luck with your endeavors either way. I'll post something back if I have the time to commit. Otherwise I hope someone else can latch on right away. (btw very nice music sir!)
snafredson
Thanks for the nice words and for answering!Well I guess I'm looking for someone that does pretty much everything except writing the music =). Even if I wanted to create, upload and maintain the mod myself I wouldn't have time for it.. Since I don't know whats hard and whats not I'm looking for a fairly experienced mod author because I simply cannot afford it to "fail", especially if I'm paying someone to master the tracks. The aim is not to change the way anything works in the game, just to add tracks that sounds like they could have been there from the start, and that plays on the right places. I hope that I'm somewhat clear! Edited January 16, 2013 by snafredson
Krystedez
Well in that case, you'll have to do the legwork if you want to find someone of that nature. Try looking in the nexus mods section and find a specific author who has done music replacement before. There's even a guy who did custom voice acting with 50 other people to create brand new interesting NPCs, he may be someone to ask too! EDIT: Here's a guy who's done similarly what you're looking for. He may have not written the music but he's done the addition of it in the form of an esp mod which is what you need to do. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/28951 Here's a guy that has done more, and has more endoresments! :) http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/28583 You can message these fellows your topic and ask them if they're interested by going to their profiles on the nexus.http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/users/414418 the first guyhttp://skyrim.nexusmods.com/users/5678513 the second guy There's probably more authors but this should get you started.
