EldritchNexus
I'm playing the Legendary Edition of Skyrim in Wineskin on macOS El Capitan (it's 32-bit, so it will work in Wineskin), using an Intel HD 3000 graphics card. The base game and the Dragonborn expansion run fine so far, but there's something going on with the other two expansions. When I have Dawnguard enabled, the game freezes on the title screen and I can't get out of it. When I have Hearthfire enabled, none of the characters' voices can be heard. Their lips move and the subtitles are there, but I can't hear a single word spoken by any of the characters. The music and other SFX are still there, though. And enabling the related unofficial patches doesn't change anything. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or something I can do to fix these problems? EDIT: Never mind! I just reinstalled the game, and it works fine now! Edited July 5, 2020 by EldritchNexus
wfandrews
If you have all the DLCs, which I believe is what you mean by "expansion", you should be using USLEEP, Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch, and not the individual patches. At least I believe that is what you mean when you say you enable the related unofficial patches. Whether this will fix your problem I do not know as I have no knowledge of running Skyrim on a Mac and with Wineskin. I do know that many mods are dependent on USLEEP, although as you said you are running the base game that is probably not relevant at this time. I was using a NO CD executable (I won't tell anyone where I got it from, since I don't want to encourage piracy on this site) so that I could play the game in Wineskin without having to be connected to Steam (I still bought the game and its DLCs from Steam, so I'm not pirating the game). But the patch I used was for an earlier version of Skyrim that I guess Hearthfire and Dawnguard aren't compatible with. I reinstalled the game from Steam (DLCs included) and used a NO CD patch that's based on the latest version of Skyrim. Now the game runs fine with all three expansions enabled...minus the fact that the game now freezes every time I quit back to Desktop, but that's a minor inconvenience by comparison that I'm sure I can deal with. Anyway, thanks for the advice. Edited July 7, 2020 by EldritchNexus
