frogpower
Is anyone actually interested in using a MOD that replaces the hacking and lockpicking mini-games in the favor of more (RPG-wise) conventional dice rolls or am I really the only one who feels insulted by the ridiculously easiness of the mini-games? When I see some people actually bothered making spreadsheets to help solve their hacking mini-games, I am assuming that I'm only making this MOD for myself, but how about the fallout1&2 lovers? Minigames removal mod anyone????
SpeedyB64
I think you should just make the mini games super hard and get rid of the skill requirement so you can always open a hard lock but if your skill is low it will be nearly impossible. spineynorman
I hate, HATE hacking with a passion. The first time you do the little word hunt it's new, but by the fourth time you have to watch that Unix screen to get one hack you're spouting obscenities. I'd like a Deus Ex dice roll for hacks. Wreckless1
I think you should just make the mini games super hard and get rid of the skill requirement so you can always open a hard lock but if your skill is low it will be nearly impossible. I'd love something like this - have a hellish nasty hard minigame depending on the difficulty of the lock, but if your skill is greater than the set difficulty of the lock it should be an automatic success. That would be most excellent.
frogpower
I haven't found out yet how to alter the mini-game. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm under the impression that the mini-games are hard-coded and cannot be accessed with the editor. What can be done (tested succesfully) is disable the minigames and replace them with a script. I guess this is what my first release is going to do (starting with hacking). Any suggestions for a good set of formulas are welcome. Also I am not sure how much XP should be gained in each cases.
Sarteka
I must say, some very hard locks are hard as hell (locks range in *difficulty* from 1-100 and the 100 locks are no cakewalk) Although I do agree that the entire science skill is a waste in its current state... (shouldn't science factor in when making something like a steam gauge assembly railway rifle?)
