Job4aCowboy
Hey, Just a quick question. I understand its against the rules to use another games content in your mods, but whats the rules on other games from Bethesda, for example fallout 3? Thanks

jet4571
Well that particular rule only applies to distributing it. If it never leaves your hard drive then there is no problem. Might be a good idea to not include it in a screenshot either but no rules broken if you do, just some annoyed people wondering why you are showing it off if you wont release it. Boil it down to what happens on your hard drive is nobodies business but your own, start giving it out to others then it is their business. So you can port whatever you like from whatever game you want, do whatever you want with any mod, just cant release it without permission first. easy enough rule to follow. But since we are talking rules for modding and many modders today are like kids in a candy store who do not respect original authors. FIRST rule should always be get permission before using content from someone elses mod or game. No permission = No use and No answer = No use. Ofcourse the rule of personal/private use overides. The reason for this rule is we had so many people demanding that the screen shot poster release the mod that added the not allowed content that he was showcasing. And then when finding that the mod was not allowed, demanding that the mod be given through PM or posted to some other site for them to use. Thus, using The Nexus as a conduit to trade in not allowed mods. As for having it on your own computer - that is your computer and we take no stance on what you have on it. Only on what you upload here.Bben46
jet4571
Augh didnt realize that it's not allowed in screenshots as well. Good to know and thanks for the correction. Really its best to just not have any mod at all that you wont release in a screenshot because it makes you a jerk for showing it off and saying NO you cant have.
