Hitmeimdead
My game always CTD at the very begining when on the ship to get dropped off. I've never played this game before and I've tried all the tweaks, update the drivers, ect... It crashes at the point on the ship when the gaurd tells me to leave or what ever. When I try to open the hatch, it always crashes... Any help would be greatfull.... Ok, now I can get it to where it starts to load the exterior or what ever but it still crashes, but this time with the illegal operation crap... Here's what it says..."MORROWIND caused an invalid page fault inmodule <unknown> at 0000:84193209.Registers:EAX=00000000 CS=017f EIP=84193209 EFLGS=00010246EBX=00000000 SS=0187 ESP=00b4ecb0 EBP=00000000ECX=00000000 DS=0187 ESI=00000000 FS=377fEDX=00000000 ES=0187 EDI=858814f0 GS=0000Bytes at CS:EIP:8b 00 33 c9 ff 50 68 5f 5e 33 c0 5b c3 8b 4f 04 Stack dump:858814f0 00000000 fbaad340 8419354d 858814f0 83ffbc90 624f764e fbaad340 fbaad340 841935be 00000000 00000000 858814f0 83ffbc90 00b4ed28 00b4ed18" Any help? Xeniorn
That exact thing was happening to me when I first tried playing Morrowind. After a week, it started working on its own. I haven't done anything about it. Strange...
Hitmeimdead
Hmm... It's been a month now and it's still not working. I've tried everything I could find on the subject "CTD" and still can't seem to figure it out. That's why I'm here... I didn't get the error message until i tried running it in a window. I've now just uninstalled it and don't plan on playing it cause it's just to much of a hassle to play a game that everybody raves about, but doesn't work. I'm just going to put it on the shelf with all of my other games that I retired. Maybe if someday I want to try and play it again, I'll pull it out of retirement and see what happens and maybe I'll have some answers by then as to weather it works or not and what solutions can be made to make it work. PierreBeauregard
If it only crashes while running in a window, then don't run it in a window? Or if you're that desperate, try a no-cd installation. I found my game would run a lot smoother, crash less often, and the movies would stop skipping when I did this.
Hitmeimdead
Well, it doesn't just crash in a window. When I try to play it in a full screen it just locks up my system. So, I did some research into trouble shooting the problem. That's when I ran it in a window... Thus the "error" message. I figured if I could get an error message that it would be easier to solve the problem, but here I am still trying to figure out the problem. When I installed, I installed the full game, but it still needs the CD in order to work. I tried using a NO-CD patch, but that didn't correct the problem either. So, what now? draginater
this may sound like a dumb question, but did u fully uninstall and re install?. also ive had this problem with the game "age of empires" and it started workign when i closed all unnessasary progs (aim/msn/yahoo/realplayer/anti virus/ect..) also im not sure if it would work but get ad-aware adn run it, i had so much spyware on my cpu that it made my cpu too slow to run certain games properly. Hitmeimdead
I did all of that, closing all unecessary background files, uninstalling, re-installing, so on and so forth. I don't use programs that have or I think has spyware used in it on my gaming machine. So, I don't see where that would come in a problem. I can run just about any game except for morrowind and Command and Conquer: Generals on my machine. Generals runs, but it locks up every once in a while. As for Morrowing, well, it just doesn't want to work for me. When I first bought this game I had WinXP Pro on my machine, with many frequent crashes and such, I just reverted back to Win98SE. Morrowind ran good for the most part at that point and time, but now it's just being a BI*(#, but I only ran it for a couple of hours after work untill it crashed, never ran it again since I started having this problem.
