Need Help determining correct door for caves

I am making a location in the G.E.C.K., and I cannot find a door that fits BasRmWallStraight01. I have searched through nearly every category, and no door I've found fits it correctly. I want to use this part as it fits my mod idea perfectly, however, it needs a door. If there is one made for it, or just a way to fit one, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Are u trying to fit the door in that object?

If u are, then thats your problem. You cant fit a door to a straight wall. You'll need an exit object for it.

In your case it should be someting like BasRmSmEx01 or similar. Be mindful that this type of door would be for and exit in the middle of the room. For an exit next to a corner you would have to use a different exit piece that fits both the corner and its direction.

The piece I was referring to has a doorframe built into it. I have found that it uses a utility door while doing more searching through the doors in the G.E.C.K. last night.

A little trick that I've used before, especially with the StoreFront door while working on interiors is taking a door frame piece such as WasteRmDoorFrame01, turning it backwards (so the floor is facing AWAY from the wall I want to work with) then increase the scale of it slightly. With a little tweaking of both the frame and the door it works. Kind of hard to explain but hopefully these two shots will help. The Wall itself was a normal wall, not a door frame wall.

Is it okay to have things intersecting like that?

Yep, it is. As long as you position it right the player will be none the wiser. I've also taken a bookshelf, scaled it way down and used it as a 'step' infront of a door by sinking into the floor. Can't tell it was originally a bookshelf and still looks pretty good. As long as you can get it to 'look good' you can use any object for anything you can think of, doesn't matter if they're intersecting or not with Statics.

Okay, that is really awesome then, makes my life a lot easier. Back when I did lots of maps and mods for CounterStrike for my friends, it was bad to have anything intersecting. I'm not super-knowledgeable about it all, I just tinker with crap until it looks like it works. :thanks:
