Drowchyld777
I've an issue with Hearthfire - Lakeview Manor. When I am inside the house and another NPC (Housecarl of Falkreath and Barbas confirmed so far) is in the home with me I experience random CTDs that happen fairly often. I told my housecarl to "follow me" and then "wait here" outside the home: no CTDs. It seems linked to NPCs wandering around in my home. I have built the kitchen, greenhouse, and storeroom...upgraded pretty much 99% of everything besides a few mounted heads. I am concerned because I believe adopted children, a steward, and a wife will make my home pretty much unplayable. But as it stands now I either have to kill off the Reguard woman or recruit her and have her manually wait outside; making me never able to recruit a follower. I should note I have not hired any NPCs or anything yet, just built and furnished my place. Running very few mods: the three unofficial patches, brawl bugs batch, requiem, realistic needs and diseases, and a mod called "improved skillbooks." If anyone has any guidance on this issue I would really REALLY appreciate it! Google did not help me in my question :( Its just discouraging because I have invested a lot of time into this game and kinda irked I can't really use my home, apparently. And making a hard save every 2 minutes is dumb.
Drowchyld777
I seem to have found a fix. I read somewhere that the upgrade workbenches can cause issues. I was able to upgrade every room besides the basement and removed all of the benches (besides basement). My housecarl is wandering around and I've not encountered one crash since! Before I took them out I had experienced a few forms of CTD. I've ONLY CTDed inside Lakeview Manor in dozens of hours of gameplay and almost 400 hardsaves. So if anyone is reading this with the same issue try disabling all the benches and see if that helps you as well.
Shinfen
I did try this, it worked for the next 3 times I visited my home (I did not replace any benches), then did it again when I entered the armory. The oddest thing is this bug has only appeared on my spellcaster. Twice after starting over. I have 4 other characters who own the place with no issues. Maybe it's just not mage freindly?
