Title Pretty much says it. Seemingly random people (all female) will have no hands and purple/missing skin texture. there doesn't seem to be a unifying factor like race or age or anything.

Do me a big big favor please, don't quote the messages ok, this one almost did not make it into my E-mail and it's marked dangerous.

the Bsa archives are where mods and the main game store their files.

you only need to extract the mod's Ba2's into loose file form.

If you don't know what they are, you need to use a program meant for them to extract them, in this case they will end up in the games main Data folder.

OR the mods are not sorted correctly.

Bsa2 was a type O that's all.

I still am unsure what you are telling me to do. I did find a bunch of bsa files in my data folder, and I used the thing you linked to extract them, but now what? it extracted them to the default location in my C drive, and the issue is still happening. what exactly should I do after extracting them?

EDIT: C:\ **** Games\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data folder is where you need to have all loose files extracted too.

IF the problem remains ? you may needs to back up the saved game file and send me a copy So I can download those mods and test them myself.

No worries about links, I'll extract all that from the saved game file. the one that shows what you posted here with the purple body things.

I'll get back later tonight with a solution.

Apologies', I'm all over the boards and games And I got confused about the file types, not the procedure's. yesterday I was working with fallout 4's data base.

this games uses "bsa" as the extension. The same as fo3's game.

It's really simple thing to do. you place the compressed files from within the bsa archives into loose file for factor into the games data folder and test that saved game as you have it running now.
Loose files overwrite compressed and packed files provided archive invalidated has been activated.
Archive invalidated means this " It tells the games engine to Ignore the source files it came with namely the bsa archives in favor of the loose files."

Now, if that saved game that shown here the purple person is no longer purple? then we can sort out which mod is the cause.

OR you have NOT activated invalidated yet which in case will also "only some times" fix the problem.

The purple means the games mesh files can't find or see the textures meant to be there.

what you're doing is investigating the where and what of it.

Now do you understand?

I have gone into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data, used he BSA extractor you linked to to extract the 18 .bas files present there, and I have put the 75,408 files, which all are under 100kb (and which when added up only take up ~1.5GB, as opposed to the 12.3Gb taken up by the uncompressed BSA files) and end in .fuz, back into the data folder along side the origional BSA's. Then, whithout anything else, I simply launch skse and load up my save? assuming that I did everything right, that has not solved the problem. random female NPCs are still purple and handless.

that's why, that's the reason why.

No, it will not fix the problem there. the steam system needs to be installed else where, not default.

Windows is the reason your ending up with nothing, windows will not allow you to edit things in that location.

There are literally millions of post concerning this very issue, not only here but every where modding takes place around the world.

"yes" you did mess up. Now, understand what I am going to tell you.

If you install steam to say C:\games? then the issue on it's own will, should clear up all by it's self.

If not? then I will go further with assistance. But at this time, no body going to waste any more time as long as your data is installed at that location.

you got the right Idea now if you actually going to require it, how ever from this point on I do not believe you do.

I am sorry to give you bad news.

reinstall the game like I described or on another external drive and things should be back to normal.

I have moved its location to C:\SteamGames\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition by adding a second install location (editing the steam libraryfolders.vdf to have 2 install folders on C), loaded up my save, and the problem still persists. I didn't actually fully reinstall the game, just cut and pasted the files from the previous location to the new one.
