migmadmarine
I'm having crashes that I believe are caused due to these mods, but I would hate to lose them, as they add so much to the game. I'm going to un-sub on steam, but if it turns out they are not causing the crashes, is their some way I can get the mod again? Is it possible to get a previous version of the mod that doesn't cause crashes? Is there any other mod that adds the same sorts of things? Thanks! Hellscreamy
Are you using Sounds of Skyrim - Civilization? Because I know that mod causes your savefiles to become unplayable if you remove it. A lot of people had problems with SoS and the mod has since been hidden from Nexus until there would be a fix. EDIT: The bug is caused by a script that get stuck in your savefile or something, this causes your savefiles to bloat and skyrim to become slower and glitchy. migmadmarine
No, that is the one of the three I do not have. Also, the problem I have is this; There is a section of road by a farm between Falkreath and Helgen that causes my game to crash if I enter it. No mod I currently have affects this area particularly, so I assume with the problems I have read of it is the Sounds of Skyrim mod(s). I seem to remember reading that the maker abandoned it, is this right?
migmadmarine
Also, as some one new to the the Nexus mod manager, what does the yellow triangle w/! icon indicate?
Hellscreamy
Also, as some one new to the the Nexus mod manager, what does the yellow triangle w/! icon indicate? That means there is an update for that mod available.Mods don't have to change a certain area directly to cause crashes there. There are problems with 'dirty' mods, these are mods that made small changes to objects and area's. This could be something like copying an object from a location, moving or removing an object or adjusting the variables on an item. Even if the owner changed the variables back to what they once, they will still affect the object. If another mod changes the same location or object, there will be a conflict and everything crashes. So if two mods changed something by accident in Falkreath, your game crashes. This can only be fixed by going through all your mods and find the conflict or cleaning them up with TESVEdit. migmadmarine
Well, I've removed the sounds of skyrim mods, and the crashes are gone, so i guess it worked. Thanks all.
migmadmarine
Scratch that, same crashes, not from sounds of skyrim (I think , I'll need to try a new game to test for sure.)
