bryman1970
So I recently decided to use the Update Map option in Wrye Mash. Unfortunately, this seems to have messed it up. I tried removing and reinstalling the expanded map option in the Morrowind Code Patch. This didn't wortk either. Now my map is partly unreadable and looks like crap. If it makes any difference, I have my entire MW folder backed up from BEFORE this happened. I don't know if there's a file I can replace the current one with that might fix the issue. Does anyone know how to repair this? http://i50.tinypic.com/2utn91u.jpg Edited January 20, 2013 by bryman1970
hollaajith
You can try the option "update map" again but this time uncheck "world map gridlines"To uncheck it right click on tab named 'File' in saves tab.
bryman1970
I just tried that. It just took the gridmarks off of the world map. It's still a mess. ;D
Drullo321
I found a solution for you because having nearly the same problem: http://www.mwmythicmods.com/Archives/Mods/On%20resetting%20the%20world%20map.htm Short:- Download Morrowind Enchanted Editor- Load your save file- Open the "player map" entry and delete anything you find there ("FMAP" was it for me)- Save and close the editor- Start Morrowind and the edited save. It should have worked and you see a completely fogged "vanilla" map as you would see when starting a new game. That is the only disadvantage but anything else is fixed
bryman1970
Late response, but Drullo's solution did the trick. Only thing is I had to re-explore the area to put the markers back on the map (the names of the areas would still show up when I put my cursor over it). Thanks for the tip, Drullo. arcanusofmemphis
I have just had this exact issue and can also confirm that Drullo's solution worked. The downside about the map being wiped is also accurate. Unfortunately, Drullo's link is now dead, but I found a download site through UESP to the Enchanted Editor. http://hellwolve.kikaimegami.com/files/EnchantedEditor.zip
