Parvum
I've got the GOTY edition on disc. I've installed it (and uninstalled it once!) on windows 8. I have yet to get any problems with the game because the game itself won't launch. FalloutLauncher.exe and Fallout.exe crash when I try to open them. I've checked in the task manager, and the programs run. Windows asks me if I'll allow them to open. But a few seconds after they appear in the task manager, they vanish. While searching for Fallout in the explorer, I've noticed a very long list of 'appcrash' regarding Fallout. The launcher crashes whenever I try to use it. My google-fu hasn't been able to help me at all here- could anyone tell me what to do?
Dweedle
Does it pop up with a missing file when you try launch the game? Try download FOMM then go into install tweaks and make it have a false xlive thingy, sorry Im not the best with computers but I am pretty sure if you use FOMM (Fallout mod manager) you might beable to get the game to boot. Parvum
Gives me the exact same problem, I'm afraid. It was giving me the missing file junk earlier, but I fixed that by downloading xlive.dll. It still refuses to launch.
