CrunchyWithKetchup Posted July 19, 2020 Share Posted July 19, 2020 So, I don't know how many of have noticed, but during character creation, there's a small bug involving eye color; that being that if you change the male or female protagonist's eye color, they instantly gain the PTSD perk and stare off into infinity. For the rest of character creation. Nate gets Anchorage flashbacks (you can almost hear the gauss rifles firing in his mind), and Nora must have hit one too many Law School keggers, 'cause homegirl looks like she's seen some stuff, man... Anyway, I was hoping that someone could possibly make a mod that fixes that. I mean, it's not something big, per se, but it's immersion breaking as all heck. I don't know if it's something in the engine itself (I haven't played Skyrim in too long a while to confirm or deny its existence therein), or if it's something to do with animations not being applied correctly, 'cause I assume rather than re-texture the eyes on the fly, they're just swapping in completely new eye models for each of the eye colors, and the animations just aren't attached for Atom knows what reason. But then again, even if you switch back to Hazel, which is Nate's default eye color, he still dons the thousand yard stare. Same goes for Nora; switching back to her default eye color doesn't re-initiate the eye animations. So, I don't know what's going on; I'm no 3D artist or animator. But apparently, it goes back to launch day; I just read a post on the Steam Discussions from five days after FO4 launched, so it's been around for quite some time. robotized Posted July 19, 2020 Share Posted July 19, 2020 Try the following - select the eyes and press Type. Don't change the type, go back with Tab right away. This should reposition the eyes. I also figured out, as I was making a new character yesterday, that selecting either a new hairstyle or a different style of facial hair also alleviates the dead eye.
