Dubnoman Posted January 31, 2013 Author Posted January 31, 2013 (edited) The trouble with getting a new Graphics Card is that, -Often have to get a new Power Supply, should be up to $50, I picked up one for 30 last time I went that route.-Yes go with an Nvidea, more support, and constant Driver Updates across all games is always better.-Consider a second Hard Drive if you can go with an older model Nvidea to fit it in the budget.-Your second Hard Drive should be a fancy beast of a Solid State drive.-You run just your modded game from there. Solid States fetch information much faster, and well Skyrim makes a lot of use of the Read/Write function of the Hard Drive. Pretty important that it's able to exchange information quickly. -A lot of utility programs that measure computers performance for gameing measure your Hard Drive for the above reasons. Trouble with a Solid State is they're starting in the 200 dollar range. Are you sure I'll need a new power supply unit? I have a really good model from a really good brand for my PSU, and I got a unit that is something like a 850 watt PSU. A Geforce 660 Ti should use more watts than my current card, but not by all that much, and my PSU will be able to handle it. I have a 256 GB Samsung SSD. I don't put games on it, though. I just hear it isn't worth. People say it'll only make load times really fast. Other than that, no performance gains for the games themselves, people say. Edit: I just looked it up. The Geforce 660 Ti actually has a lower max power draw than my current card (150 W vs. 200 W). Edited January 31, 2013 by Dubnoman
gamefever Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 (edited) I'm not trying to say you will need one, chances are since I don't know your wattage you'd have needed one. No you should not need a new power supply you have plenty. faster load times is precisely why it's a good idea :DIt's going to matter with some Load Orders Edited January 31, 2013 by gamefever
