Fixing and old, broken save from an old computer.

I had Skyrim and all the DLC's since 2012, and played on a world until around 2015. Partway through I started modding like heck, and the game eventually broke (every time I tried to get past the 'Load' screen, the game immediately closed). I failed to troubleshoot which of the 80 or so mods caused the problem, so I had quit that game until recently.
I had hundreds of hours logged in that world, and saved the game literally over 11000 times (I'm a maniac), but now I really wanna go back to that one (especially Skyrim has more mods than Skyrim SE). However, my old computer that had that game is now broken. The save file is still on Steam, but I'm unsure of whether or not I can get the mod list (it seems Skyrim and SSE ports of the same mod will show as 'downloaded' so I can't figure which mods were on my original Skyrim game from that history).
Along with that, many of the mods seem to be hidden.

Is recovery just hopeless?
