txag79
I installed Vortex yesterday and added Skyrim to Vortex. When I logged into Skyrim, I got a message saying that some of the content requested in the save game file was no longer available. Turns out that the Vortex loader did not find my copies of the DLC content Hearthfire, Dragonborn and Dawnguard. Tried for a few hours yesterday trying to figure out where my weapons made from Stalhrim ore disappeared from my inventory and figured out I was missing the DLC as the only place to get Stahlrim ore is from the DLC Dragonborn. How do I get Vortex to recognize that I own all of the available DLC for Bethesda for Skyrim so I can get all of my DLC items back? THis glitch even screwed up all of my save game files as even going directly through Steam *save game files from* a month ago, the DLC content is missing and that is before I loaded Vortex, so something weird is going on here. Thanks in advance for anyone that can help me figure this out. *edited for clarity
rmm200
Just so you understand - Vortex does not have a game loader. Vortex does not even need to be running when you run your game. Many (most) people use SKSE with Skyrim, or F4SE with Fallout 4.Those do have their own loader - which you can invoke by going to the game directory and selecting skse64_loader or f4se_loader. I suggest you start by going to Steam and ask it to validate your game. That wiil restore any missing pieces.

As stated/edited in original post, even loading save game files directly through Steam, still no DLC content. Game was validated through Steam 5 minutes ago and still no DLC content when loading a save game file, but Steam shows I own all 3 DLC files. Just very frustrating to have something that was working fine "break" when upgrading to a new system. Also, I just don't get how my previous save game files were altered to remove or not load the data that was present in them when I made the save file. txag79
Okay, I found a solution on the Vortex application where my DLC content was missing. Within Vortex, there is a save game button on left pane that will provide you with an option via a drop down menu to *Restore save game plug-ins*. Why it does not do this to start with when I installed Vortex yesterday is beyond my ken.
