This crash only happens in the wilderness and really takes away from the immersion of the game. The crash happens in an instant, no freezing, no error messages and no black screens, it simply closes the game as if it had been closed by me. I have searched far and wide in a search of ways to stop, or at least circumvent the problem, but nothing has worked so far. I have tried turning my shadows down to low, I have cleaned all of my mods, they are all compatible, I have run BOSS, I have tried the sound fix but none of these fixes has worked to date. More to the point most people will not even understand what that means. Generally it's much easier to understand it like this. You can only use so many scripted mods before you'll encounter crashing.You can only use textures of a certain size before your FPS goes down and if your using scripted mods alongside textures your amount is even lower. To get the most out of the games perforemance it takes some educated guess work,Tweaking of the INI files find guides on Nvidea homepage or GOOGLETurning off a lot of background processes which for most ppl is not really a good idea unless they know what they are doing to their computer.Tweaking their graphics card using a 3rd party program again this can destroy your computer if your uneducated.Just haveing better components is a big deal.Refining your mod list down to what is essentail for a playthrough. IE I want this kind of experience so everything else gets cut from my list. I'm essentially only using texture mods, and a couple armor/weapon packs. My fps is almost always at vsync cap. I really try and avoid scripted mods altogether, as I don't know what they're messing with behind the scenes. I'm not overclocking my GTX680, and nowhere near maxing out my CPU. I'm using the Texture Pack Combiner from Nexus, and compiled pretty much solely from his list of compatible texture mods. Any taargeted advice is appreciated. gamefever Posted January 28, 2013 Share Posted January 28, 2013 Tweaking their graphics card using a 3rd party program I'd ditch the Vsync,I would cap the FPS using a 3rd party graphics program made for my graphics card. Probably set it at 58 FPS, setting at 60 is still too high.Skyrim functions best at the 45 to 58 FPS range. Make sure your UGRIDS is not higher than 7Be aware that a nice graphics card isn't much w/o a nice fast hardrive You could always try an EMB to chew down performance, heck a lot of ppl do that with monster rigs. Also you need to address this question to ppl that have been through this experience with high end hard ware, it's an entirely different approach than what the majority of ppl face.
