Does my computer suck?

The main advantage (at the moment) of a 64-bit OS is the capability to use more RAM.

For example, the physical memory limits for some of the various flavours of Windows are:

Win7 Home Premium/32-bit = 4 GB.

Win7 Home Premium/64-bit = 16 GB.

- and -

Win8/32-bit = 4 GB (still).

Win8/64-bit = 128 GB.

(Win8 Pro/64-bit = 512 GB.)

While it's true that any given Windows application must be specifically written to take advantage of the Large Memory Area (LMA), even ones that aren't will benefit by having the additional memory for the OS itself and any other running programs.

The other advantages of a 64-bit OS (faster execution of more complex operations, etc.) depend more directly on a program having been written as native 64-bit code.

[Technical point: Although the 64-bit instruction-set architecture is referred to as "x64", the 32-bit one is referred to as "x86", after the Intel "8086" processor which was the first mainstream CPU to implement it.]

I dont think it sucks. This is mine and I can play all of my games with no problems. I am re-playing Skyrim with a butt load of mods along with an ENB with all stuff set to High.

AMD x4 620 @3.2

5870 1gig

8gig RAM

Win7Pro 64

About the only thing I really wish I could do is get a better monitor. Only reason I don't is the nagging I would receive from my "better half".

Currently using a 20.1" @ 1680x1050. I thought about using the 32" I have the xbox plugged in next to it but it only does 720p. I tried 1080i and it blows for obvious reasons.
