FO3 Base food, drink and misc animations list

I have downloaded several mods that play animations for your character to eat and drink when using items but it wasn't enough for me. I have played this game so many times but still I find my self immersing more and more into my own stories ( and DLC). I had to have more interactions and I wanted to share those interactions with my NPC followers as well. I have looked into many places and while there are mods that allow you to do some of these things I couldn't find the perfect mod. I don't know that much about how to mod these myself so I looked for an easy solution; to my benefit, and maybe even yours, I found one and I wanted to share what I did so that others can have fun as well!

Have you ever wanted to just sit and chat or drink with your npcs at the bar or a restaurant in town? Well, I did and I found the animations and console codes to allow you to do this. I'll show you an easy way to accomplish this but keep in mind that a companion mod which allows your npcs to start 'random roaming' or allowing your npcs to use in-game anims related to objects, will be required. I use the "Sharing and Caring Companions" mod for that which you can find at this link: http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/2399

If you want to do this with an NPC that isn't a follower you may do this method with the same effectiveness and without any companion mods.

Alright, let's say your hungry and you want to eat something but you also would like your npc follower to eat with you instead of looking dumb and watching you eat by yourself. Here's a simple way of how you might do that:

First, assuming that you have an NPC partner, allow your NPC to 'roam.' (For Sharing and Caring Companions mod you talk to your follower NPC and click on "Friend..." then on "Companion Order" then "Wait" and finally "Make yourself at home.") This will allow your character to choose a spot to sit but they may do something else so try and use this near a chair.)

2nd. Once your NPC follower has selected a place to sit, immediately, go to the console menu ( press ~ to open console)

3rd. Select your NPC follower

4th. While still in the console mode and when your NPC follower is selected type in " setrestrained 1 " (This will keep your NPC follower in the chair or spot as long as you want them to remain there. They won't try and 'roam' or wander around until you release them)

5th. After you have restrained your NPC follower you may sit down without worrying about the NPC running off.

6th. (Make sure you are in 'third person view' before this next step!) Open your console menu and type in " tfc " after you type in tfc make sure you exit the console mode then go back into the console mode. This loads your camera to free roam so that you can view outside of your character's vision.

7th. While still in the console select your NPC follower and type the animation you want (In this example this would be my console code: playidle SitTableChairEatA )

8th. While still in the console, type in an animation you want your character to do (In this example this would be my console code: player.playidle SitTableChairEatB )

9th. Exit the console mode and now you're both eating together!!!

10th. When you are finished with your scene and are ready to leave just make sure to enter the console mode again, select your NPC follower and type in setrestrained 0. (If you don't use setrestrained 0 to unrestrain your NPC follower he/she won't leave.)

Thats the example and I will reveal the list that I found for the animations (You can find these also in the G.E.C.K mod editor under "Anim Objects" found in the "Miscellaneous" tab within the Object Window. Make sure you have loaded the 'Fallout 3.esm' file first or you won't see anything.) The list I have are all original animations from the game so you don't need anything extra to download to use them. There are quite a few of them but I took capture images of them. Sorry the quality of the images aren't the best but you can read them clear enough and that's what really counts.

The "Idle Anim" is the section that will allow you to play the chosen animation. If you need help I shall keep an eye out for responses and help you if you have any questions.

Here are the pics of the animations list:

Hope this helps those people who have been looking for more options to immerse themselves in their games! Have fun!
