silerfire
Hey dudes, I've re-worked the synopsis again for a more dynamic story. Dialogue is in progress. Great ideas by everyone! Keep it up! Fallout 3: Sin City Synopsis: The DC Brotherhood of Steel receives a cryptic, emergency transmission from a Brotherhood detachment claiming to be in New Vegas, requesting immediate backup. Having lost contact with the West Coast division long before their arrival in DC, the Brotherhood is apprehensive about the authenticity of the communiqué but more intrigued by the distance it was transmitted. Being occupied with the Enclave, the Brotherhood requests your assistance in finding out what happened to the detachment and more importantly, retrieving the technology used to broadcast the transmission. Upon arrival, the local Brotherhood chapter denies any such transmission was sent. Your character quickly learns that, not only is the feral ghoul population out of control, but the Vegas Brotherhood appears to be in a standoff against the local mafia, vying for dominance over the area. While the Vegas BoS have no love of strangers, neither does the mob and both are drawing you a line in the wasted sand. When the dice are loaded, the cops are dirty and the sharks are circling, who can you trust in the city of sin?

mjjking
hmm you might be able to work the airforce base into the story, example: depending on who you work for you might be sent to the newly discovered underground complex beneath the base proper to find anything that could give them an edge against the mob. . .alternatively, if you work for the mob you would be sent to the base to stop the brotherhood envoy and claim the weaps and tech for the mob . . .idk just something to put on the table ^^
PrideAssassin
The million dollar question is style here. Are we doin' 50's Vegas or modern Vegas?
mjjking
uhhh. . .i think we all kinda agreed on an amalgamation of new and old. . .if that helps
Triumph675
I hope this turns out, after playing through once I missed "New Reno" from Fallout 2. Probably one of the best locations for a game. Any screenshots up yet? I`ll toss an idea in the hat. Maybe create another fighting mini game. Similar to the coliseum from Oblivion.
SpeedyB64
No screens yet. We are mostly finalizing the story and details right now. I will generate the worldspace (complete with rocks and trees) once I fix my computer :P hopefully this weekend. I like the Bos vs. Mob idea that will give the player the chance to be really evil or good or you can deal with both. As for the style of Vegas, I think it will be a combination of new and old style and be more built up than it is now (tall buildings skyscrapers). I will retexture some rock and ground textures to fit the location and I know how to use the heightmap editor and can use the procedural content generator to cover this land with rocks and "trees". This will give us the main worldspace where we can add dungeons and make the city worldspaces children of this one (so the map works) I will use google maps and photoshop to create a map for this world. (It will be much smaller than the DC world of course)
dra6o0n
Maybe like the town of megaton, have the survivors of Vegas build their town with scrap parts of the old casinos, hotels, etc. You could have it that:When the Vault Dweller comes across this place, It doesn't look anything like Vegas.*make sure to make a picture of it (1950) before you arrive so your mind plays "Comparison" of the town with you. Interestingly Enough, you may encounter more reptiles and snake-like creatures since its a desert and radiation can mutate them.So anyone up for a new race of creature called the "Desert Nagas" (Sand Serpents)? A bit different than Super Mutants, these creatures prefer to poison their preys.
SpeedyB64
I am working on the map now in Photoshop. I will upload an image later. I can make a terminal in the silos that you can get some info on Vegas with including a prewar picture. If someone can make creatures it would be awesome, there is someone on this site who is doing that so I may try to contact him.
