I'd like to throw an idea into the ring! (BTW, AWESOME idea. New Reno is missed)

My idea is a simple easter egg, nothing more... if the story is "ghoul-centric," and the setting is a mix of Fallout-timeline Vegas and Real World-timeline Vegas, I'd propose this Easter Egg from Real-World Vegas... ... ...

A ghoulified Carrot Top!!! Not that he could get any uglier :P

Or for that matter, a ghoulified Blue Man Group! :D

That's all for my idea. Just a little Easter Egg to really make people laugh. One of those "I can't believe I just saw that" moments

And as an afterthought, I second the Arena idea mentioned a while back. I didn't play even 1 hour of Oblivion, but that sounds a LOT like the boxing ring from New Reno, and I'd be all for that!

You RULE for doing this, btw.

nice! so which Is or Might be the Deadline? and another thing....

I know that in the Fallout Games.. USA was NUKE right, but where are the MASSIVE CRATERS from those NUKES?

I know an Explanation might be the HIGH RADIATION THAT did all the Organic Damage right, and the Nuke Shockwave

the Structural Damage, but there must be a Giant Crater or Something.. and if you guys may add a ¨BIG ATOM BOMB¨

into the Area 51 would be nice too....and Craters too please if you can:D

For the logo, you might go with a modified version of the old nuclear/radiation symbol. It's likely there'd have been more than a few of those around the Silos anyway. You could say the inhabitants made their own little twist on it.

Ideas that came to mind when I read thought the two threads

Nillas air force base

the Air Force Base adjacent to Vegas at Vegas' northern edge

Form Wikipedia

The base consists of three major functional areas.

* Area I include the airfield and most of the mission support functions.

* Area II is east of Area I and contains the munitions area.

* Area III is across Las Vegas Boulevard from Area I. It contains housing, Mike O'Callaghan Federal Hospital, and open space.

Area 2 is widely regarded as one of the largest weapons storage sites in the United States. When atomic testing was occurring at the Nevada test Site, Area 2 was used for the storage of the weapons.

The associated Nevada Test and Training Range is located to the west in Nye and several other counties.

-The Air force Gunnery School (Teaches how to man a gun turret on a airship duh)and USAF Weapons School (teaches air to air combat with both gun and missiles and air to ground combat) are located here. With that in mind maybe a sensory pod that gives you training on how to use a gunnery pod on a Vertibird or how to shoot the main cannon of a Vertibird giving you a perk like the power armor perk.

-The Thunderbirds are the equivalent to the Navy's Blue angels and are stationed at Nillas - another sensory pod lesson for Thunderbird pilots that allows you to fly Vertibird

-Nillas is very closely linked to Area 51 with development on new aircraft worked on utilizing both bases. Nillas is a major if not only transportation link to Area 51 itself as you can't approach area 51 by ground

Others

-side quest of being a part of a casino robbery similar to Oceans 11 with a tie to the Thieves guild(from Fallout 1) with the ability to obtain either a lockpick perk perk that gives a 50% larger area that opens locks or a set of lockpicks that replace bobby pins weigh a few pounds and changes the tool used in the mini-game to the tools but can degrade and must be repaired after much use

-the ability to play both factions agents each other like in the movie "A Fist Full of Dollars," seeing as no faction is exactly good why not be allowed to help out the small populace that is not trying to get over on everyone els

-the advanced broadcast tech is actually a uplink to a operating orbiting communications satellite

-bayareadoger69 idea of a ghoulified Blue man group have them be glowing ones but there glow is blue

More interesting things from Wikipedia on Nillas Air Force Base

Construction of the "Las Vegas Army Air Field" began in March 1941; the first commander, Colonel Martinus Stenseth, arrived in May. Much of the early gunnery training, originally set to begin in September, but not underway until January 1942, used machine guns mounted in trucks and targets on railroad cars, used to accustom students to firing at a moving target. World War II made the base's mission especially urgent, and by the end of 1942, 9,117 gunners had graduated, with aircraft in use including Martin B-10s, AT-6s, A-33s, B-17 Flying Fortresses, B-24 Liberators, and B-26 Marauders. Burn marks from these guns still exist today in the desert north of Las Vegas. Many pieces of the destroyed aerial drone targets litter the hillside north of the gunnery range and can be seen in town when the sun reflects off of them.

and

On April 23, 2007 construction was started on a 140 acre, 70,000 solar panel power generation system. The installation on the west side of the base was completed in December 2007. The 14 megawatt system is expected to provide 25% of the base's power requirements.

I think it would be bad a$$ for light effects to come from the hills at sundown or off the remains of the solar plant if you all feel the solar plant is compatible with fallout cannon

Most nukes are "airburst". They don't hit the ground.
